LOCATION: THE LAB, FOLEY ST., DUBLIN 1
DATE: WEDNESDAY 25TH MARCH 2015
TIME: 19.00 – 20.00
As a live event for the exhibition ‘Welcome Disturbances’, UCD Art In Science and The Lab Gallery are delighted to present two improvised performances of dance, music and film by Siobhán McDonald, Emma O’Kane, Cindy Cummings and David Stalling.
Dancer Emma O’Kane will respond to ‘Continuum,’ a film by Siobhán McDonald based on a set of 350 million year old Irish coral fossils and their journey across time. A musical composition by Irene Buckley has been made for the film based on the unpredictable fluctuations of the Earth's movement. A site specific floor drawing by Siobhán McDonald informed by the tradition of alchemy will be the starting point for the piece.(approximate performance time 15 minutes.)
Cindy Cummings and David Stalling first performed together during their 2014 residency in the UCD College of Science with the group Strange Attractor*. For this event, they will create an instant dance and music composition drawing inspiration from the Welcome Distubances exhibition while also responding to the immediate environment in which they are performing.
The performances commence at 19.00 on Wednesday 25th March 2015 on the second floor studio of The LAB, Foley St., Dublin 1.
* Strange Attractor: Anthony Kelly, Danny McCarthy, Irene Murphy, Mick O'Shea, David Stalling and guest Claire Guerin.
